This will affect much of the U.S. but not entirely. There may be areas that are spared simply for the sake of simpler logistics. There will be other areas of the world hit in proximity, or soon thereafter, but we cannot be leading here too greatly. We also agree with your assessment of things, that it is not your role to play twenty questions with any and all wanting to know about their personal situation and level of safety. There are too many other things needing to be done. That is why a general warning to all, that this can strike at any time, with an example being the U.S., a significantly large contingent, makes the point none are safe, and that is the message. It is wise for all, no matter where located, to take some reasonable precautions to have food on hand and water, etc., and if possible a source of heat, candles, flashlights, etc., for convenience.
