Augmented natural killer activity is in general useful as part of the innate immunity, so that would be a productive approach if it can be done with a high level of effectiveness, and that is the rub. Scientists have been working on this for many, many, years in the anticancer arena and this is no different. So it is a kind of holy grail that is envisioned, but not a bird in hand as yet, so to speak, in contrast to the available vaccines for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that already work quite well, and while targeting these viruses specifically, serve the to keep a significant level of protection in place for people, as intended. It is not wise to give up the bird in hand for something presumed to be superior when people are being infected daily and deaths are still occurring.
