This was entirely karmic. She has had the experience of such an attack in a prior life, and so the animals were picking this up in their intuitive inspection of her. This is very much akin to seeing a prey animal and then responding through instinct to chase and kill when caught. Even though this is a human and would normally be off-limits to a trained companion animal, keep in mind that dogs, and cats as well, have instinctive behaviors that are a part of their being and of long and deep history in their genetic makeup, and in fact in their very soul. They were originally animals, pure and simple, but were repurposed for special duty for the divine human project to be companions and an amiable source of love, to serve as teachers and reminders of the possibility of love and its expression, and to give comfort as well as healing for their human companions. But when put in an environment where they are allowed to run as a pack, and especially when allowed free roaming in their environment, both will reawaken deep roots and instinctive behaviors to help them deal with the unbridled freedom, and this can get them into trouble. They are much more likely to make mischief, to intrude on other humans, and to react more instinctively as their animal nature, than would be the case in living within a human dwelling with constant presence of their human companions as a reminder, and also as a constraint. For being with the pack leader creates an automatic precedence in their conduct to follow the lead and to obey the rules of their human idol. When the owner is an ineffective influence or leaving the animals unattended for too long a period, they will naturally reorient to the leader of the pack among the group if multiple dogs are present, and this can change the dynamic considerably.
