They have the same issues as earthlings. They have many needs. They need care and feeding. They have many technologies that require raw materials for their manufacture so there are many expensive devices as well as having a desire for elaborate and comfortable surroundings and environments to spend their time. All require wealth, and the acquisition of sophisticated goods and services puts a premium on having a source of wealth and income to stay abreast of others and to not feel left out. This is no different for the extraterrestrials in this regard and in their worlds, in particular, status and power are at a premium because anything less becomes dangerous. Their worlds are savage ones and their fellow beings are not valued as having uniqueness and a special place. They do not value their own lives in the same way as human beings. Theirs is a secular view and it cheapens their existence as a consequence.
