What can people do to cultivate their faith and increase their belief quotient?

The first thing we would say here is to get in the habit of reaching out to the Divine. When it is done as a matter course through habit, it will be done in a way that feels natural and will be fully embraced as appropriate, and with the expectation of it being useful and of benefit. This will add to the belief quotient because there will be less inner resistance. You will not feel silly, you will not feel foolish, you will not commence the exercise with hesitancy and doubt on your mind, which will likely happen if you are rusty or have little prior experience in reaching out through prayer. This is the benefit to having rituals, it does make one comfortable with the undertaking, so you will not feel self-conscious and hesitant and thereby decrease the intention you are adding to the moment. When prayer is free and easy, it will be more powerful because you will not be constricting the intention and limiting the divine response, which must always be in proportion to the intention of the request. One of the most powerful ways to cultivate greater belief and thereby effectiveness of prayer requests is to pray for this to happen, pray for support and assistance in developing this skill. It is a classic chicken and egg problem in one sense, wanting help to do what one cannot, but must have the belief in order for it to be possible in the first place. But one must start somewhere, and this is a perfect starting place because it is local, you are asking for help for the self, not for others, or groups, or humanity as a whole, but simply to have some personal assistance to become better at prayer. And even if your doubts are many, and your worthiness somewhat shaky, you can get divine support always to some degree and build on this. It will get better and things will improve over time. If you continue going to the well, you will continue getting a reward and this will grow over time. In this way, you can work your way up to becoming very powerful in your reach and assisting your divine alignment in very meaningful ways that will pay many, many, dividends. As in all things, practice makes perfect. If you ask for a divine answer and to be shown evidence the Divine is hearing you and can acknowledge your outreach, these will be granted if there is sufficient belief in place. This is another way you can practice and create an open-ended possibility of receiving a divine outreach that is personal to you and a kind of miracle in the bargain. Such experiences are very helpful for self-encouragement and the growth of belief and trust that one is on track and that the possibility of divine recognition and assistance can be a reality for you personally. There is no limit to what you can request, but there are constraints going from the small to the large in scope. This only means that a large need may require a large request, so it may take many prayers to achieve. This is simply part of the way the world is constructed and how the energies behave. Each individual has a certain energy, and an energetic reach, and must work within those boundaries. They can be grown much in the way one can train the physical body to do greater feats. One can train the mind, and heart as well, to reach higher with stronger intention and greater clarity, and greater focus and purity of intention, all of which increase the power of prayer. This is a power very worth cultivating because there is no end to the variety of applications available to you to better your world.
