This was not time travel per se, but only in a sense that his non-local consciousness was journeying forth to inspect the akashic records, to see the future extension of the current timeline, so he could look at what he would be doing the next day. He was carrying this out himself and not being informed by any other consciousness. It was simply his own native ability to communicate what the deep subconscious was observing, for specific things that could be conveyed to the conscious awareness through the intermediary step of introducing it into the dreams, and then waking up with fresh awareness of the dream content.
This shows the power of non-local consciousness to do some very sophisticated explorations to, in effect, pull a needle out of a haystack in finding specific knowledge and information that is desired, and then this is indeed experienced with little awareness by the mind itself in how it all comes together—it just does. One moment the person knows nothing about what will be coming and then sees it play out in the dream state, wakes up, and can record the details of what was viewed, much like a movie, because that is the essence of the akashic records, they are like a video recording that can be replayed over and over and studied from a number of vantage points because the content is rich in reflecting all of the interconnecting events and their influence to bring about a particular event. So, as an exercise in discernment, even keen detective work, this was a relatively straightforward and trivial exercise, going to sleep knowing the target was to see what was going to be done the next day, with respect to a destination, so that was easy to look for through the future timeline and recover those details and, as such, constituted a relatively simple assignment, although it was beyond the ability of most people to exhibit.
