DWQA QuestionsCategory: Physical UniverseThere is evidence of coral reefs in the Arctic Ocean. How was that possible? Was this region of the planet once in a different location because of a polar shift, or was the climate in the Arctic once warm enough to support them for other reasons?
Nicola Staff asked 4 years ago
This indeed is due to there being a prior location where this area of the planet was receiving greater solar energy than today. While that can happen as a result of a polar tilt, that was not the reason here and we will have more to say on that with your subsequent questions.
