Your perception of this as having been an extraordinary near miss is fully warranted. We can tell you that this individual was in danger of a serious and even life-threatening injury that would have happened without a divine intervention to deflect the saw’s location at a key instant so it would rend the cloth of the trousers but leave the skin untouched. This was owing to the divine alignment of the individual in question, that he was under divine watch and could be assisted in this way because prayers were on record wanting protection and safety, and that was used as a basis for assisting him that otherwise could not have happened.
Humans are on their own in the earth plane. It is up to them to see to all their needs. For everything that happens, there can only be a divine rescue if someone has requested this as an advocate for them, or they have done so themselves, or if there was a prelife planning to be in harm’s way in a particular setting and to have divine backing, knowing there would be a state of disconnection and neglect perhaps in not seeing to that oneself. There are many rules that govern what we can and cannot do to help, but human intention is the greatest force and the most important thing to see to and must be provided from the human side, in most cases, for us to bestow a blessing of this kind.
