They do understand that many people are benevolent, and they can perceive human consciousness and assess its vibration. So they know who is a gentle soul and who might be troubled and best to steer clear of. They do not understand human culture in any detail, nor the workings of human healers and what they do, but they will understand who is a friend and who is not because they can perceive human intention as a vibration. Much like a song generated by each person; it cannot be detected by the human ear, but the elementals can hear your song and know what you are about because it will be evident to them.
