The elementals have no concept of this or need to. They have their own purpose for existence and place in things. They take things as they come and know how to navigate energetically. For the most part, humans are more of an inconvenience for them than an asset, as they must live in the same environment within Gaia, and anything disrupted by human culture and the ongoing contest with the interlopers is only a negative for them and not a benefit, so they will be happy when humans leave the earth plane.
