DWQA QuestionsCategory: Divinely Inspired MessengersSaint Faustina, as revealed in her diary, clearly believed herself “unworthy” of divine favor while, at the same time, desiring it desperately and with every fiber of her being. Her asceticism, fervent and unrelenting prayer were clearly almost desperate-at-times efforts to reconcile herself to the divine, and meet what she believed were nearly unattainable standards of perfection demanded of anyone seeking divine favor. And even though there was a divine mission planned for her, it seems her dilemma almost required the extreme level of daily divine involvement in her life such that Jesus himself had to try and be her therapist, as no one else, literally, was qualified to help her “get past herself?” What can Creator tell us?

In a sense, this is a correct analysis. She was indeed getting in her own way, and that was because of a combination of her karmic history, being one of great suffering for the cause of the divine, and the exposure within the current life of the role model of the monastic existence seeming to mandate an asceticism as a lofty goal of its own and the high road to holiness to dispense with earthly concerns and comforts, even to a fault, to prove one's worth as being devoted to God. As we have explained, that is actually going against God to do so because our wish for all of you is for you to be happy, prospering, and thriving, living in joy and surrounded by love, giving it and receiving it freely, as a true expression of your heritage and makeup being an extension of our consciousness to begin with. This is why the extraordinary measure was taken to save her from what would otherwise have been an impassable roadblock, convinced as she was that she needed not only to punish herself but to the greatest of possible extremes, short of death, even though she was risking that from her self-denial. All the while, she did not realize that was building a wall around herself that would keep God out, and Jesus as well, because the denial was to everything as a consequence of the intention she held. We always must follow human intention. If people want to be alone to suffer, we must allow them the privilege to choose their path or to remain stuck as in this case. The outreach from Jesus, as we have said, was allowable because this was invited via prayers that were in her history, wanting Jesus to be a part of her life, and that was arranged to be an invitation for her. That is how the divine realm works, through inspiration and invitation, to have a further interaction; it must then be chosen and acted upon through the free will of the recipient.
