Here is another celebrity who experienced personally, the slings and arrows of envious rivals who were jealous of his career success and, instead of admiring his talent and give credit where it was due, went out of their way to cause him trouble. Such difficulties are commonplace in settings involving high-powered talent where the stakes are high and the rewards enticing and there is much competition in that arena. That is a perfect setting for all kinds of karmic drama, when jealousy and envy will create rivals or enemies competing with one another and going out of their way, perhaps to create roadblocks, to harm their rivals. This is why Hollywood is so notable as a rumor mill and gossip-rich environment that is a kind of industry of its own to be reported and discussed at length in the tabloids. This low form of journalism is a living testament to the realities of how commonplace jealousy and envy rear their ugly heads and motivate people to take the low road instead of the high one. Because jealousy and envy are such common human failings, things are not much different in any arena. There will be examples, even in spiritual communities, among people who should know better but might be blind to their own shortcomings and act all too human at times in exhibiting these pitfalls of human feelings and behavior.
