We think this is a beautiful metaphor describing the value of love and the rewards it brings. A life never tasting the fruit is a life wasted because it is all about love. Love needs a place to go, as it is a projection of energy that seeks a target, because there is an intention for something to happen always when love is generated. There needs to be a loving acceptance of the self but one cannot love oneself romantically in the way one can love another, because a relationship with a suitable partner doubles the energy available to be exchanged, and adds a variety of possibilities that cannot be conjured up within the self alone other than through imagination and, even there, fantasies will be limited in quality and quantity, in the absence of life experience, to teach you what is possible to happen.
Romantic love is one of the supreme experiences possible for a physical human. There are many exalted forms of love, so romantic love is not the be-all and end-all of existence, but it is quite powerful and extremely rewarding and will be a great teacher, especially because of its intensity and value. People need to learn wise use of love and the intimacy of a close passionate love relationship so they appreciate it, value it, cherish it and nourish it, and reward it in like measure. These all entail a soul growth and expansion each and every time there is such a relationship that evolves over time. Opportunities to have a love relationship are truly special, highly rewarding, and add great value through richness and joy. To miss out on this is most unfortunate because it is an important teacher in reminding you of what is possible and what you might be missing if your life is more filled with darkness than light.
