Here again is a highly perceptive question connecting the dots here between these two phenomena. Indeed, the experience of boredom very much equals the experience of being in limbo as an earthbound spirit cut off totally from all sensation and outside stimulus. It is an entirely abnormal circumstance that is intolerable to the soul-based consciousness seeking variety and yearning to express and explore many, many things. It is a question of degree and length of experiencing in comparing varying personal experiences. Most human boredom is experienced at least with awareness there are things beyond the self. They might seem out of reach in the moment but they are not invisible and there is a logical path to arranging an escape from drudgery and a static circumstance. When one is cut off from any possibility of change, as with imprisonment for life, or being in limbo enveloped in the nothingness, it is the ultimate in a stultifying, featureless, and purposeless existence very akin to being buried alive.
