That is an attempt at a unifying hypothesis, but as you can see from the current state of affairs, the psychologists have no clue about the range of problems that can occur in the workings of the mind, let alone what happens when you begin to mix species together starting from a soulless being. So the absence of the soul-based consciousness is the greatest deficit and cannot be replaced through artificial means. These beings will never be human, nor act and feel like humans. They will always be a simulation and this will show in various ways as a deficit.
The abandonment of the Asperger’s label is a deliberate manipulation so as to keep things confusing, to not allow a clear differentiation of the hybrid beings as having a definable diagnostic imprint. This could lead to a further characterization that would show their unique aspects and encourage dangerous probing for causation. So by keeping the large designation of autism spectrum, all people with issues of communication are lumped together, and then the hybrids can essentially hide in the open as the job of the psychologists is largely done in making the diagnosis. As they have little in the way of treatments, they can simply make their pronouncements and then do some handholding to help the individual and family cope with the particular deficit that may be a problem behavior.
