DWQA QuestionsCategory: ReligionsIs the story in this post on the Internet of a miraculous power of holy water true? If so, did the faith the author’s great-grandmother had in the efficacy and potency of the holy water she possessed, help play a critical role, if not THE critical role, in effecting the cure for her uncle born with a serious skin condition? https://forums.catholic.com/t/a-real-story-of-miraculous-power-of-holy-water/379977

This did in fact take place and was an example of a miracle cure, meaning a divine intervention without a conventional scientific explanation. This is why the doctors themselves were so amazed. Although the true status of the health compromise was unclear diagnostically, it was considered a grave condition because of the striking nature of the abnormalities present and was not considered to be transient. So to see this resolve before their eyes was a shock and is the hallmark of a miracle in action. We think of all divine healing as miraculous because it is not yet accepted formally by human science, but some are swift and some are quite slow in coming. Those that are swift are clearly the dramatic ones and very satisfying and awesome to behold by the believer. That is what happened here.
