Is the mineral selenite dangerous to have around because of the affinity of its consciousness for dark spirits?

This is a keen insight and is yet another negative consequence of the New Age movement, to encourage practices of this kind that are seemingly a benefit but, in fact, are the exact opposite through misinterpretation that is conveniently putting bullets in the gun, so to speak. The idea of certain crystals having an affinity for the darker forms of consciousness is an accurate observation. That does not imply they will be good at defusing them, or absorbing them, or protecting a person from them who may be present. In fact, the opposite can be the case, and this is particularly so when the person is making a conscious connection to the mineral and wanting assistance. If the mineral, in this case selenite, has an affinity for dark consciousness and the person is connecting to the mineral with expectation it will be serving them, this, in effect, is doing a handshake with the gateway to their own spirit possession and all its consequences. So having such crystals in one’s living environment is definitely a risk. It will be attracting dark energies and the proximity with people puts them first in line for what to do next by these entities. So it is much like cooking bacon in the woods when one is in bear country. There are many such pitfalls in New Age thinking, where an idea or association is given a particular meaning but in fact, not fully understood as to the total range of consequences, and people get into serious trouble by not having a fuller awareness of the implications.
