Is she being targeted by the interlopers to have her be discounted and excluded by her family?

This is not a formal targeting but a consequence of mind control manipulation only. That is powerful enough to stifle relationships and is the intention, to not be something people can follow, or not, as they choose. People are compelled to obey their instructions because that is how it is intended to work and does. Once the beliefs are sculpted to support the propaganda, people will think like the programming and cannot have an original thought or opinion on the matter, and there will be little anyone can do using reason, logic, appeals to love, or other emotional needs that are not being met. People have their priorities and can only do what their beliefs allow, and it will override their feelings, in most cases.
