He is over-selling his accomplishments to you and this is a bad sign. If he were honest in his assessment and came to you with a balanced analysis, seeing there were unmet needs still and asking what you could do to help fill the gap, that would be more encouraging as to his character and his willingness to see things objectively. So the wishful thinking is ego-based and this is not a good sign either. This can lead to great damage for all who come near such a person, wanting to achieve success almost no matter what, and being blinded by this need, an expectation stemming from an over-inflated assessment of their personal worth and potential greatness that decisions are made that later do not pan out and leave the enterprise in jeopardy. So we can only restate our reservations in seeing the pros and cons here.
