This you are discerning quite nicely with your great intuition, that it is a correlate of Alzheimer’s because it does serve as a destructive influence within the brain. So what happens with Alzheimer’s is that two things are present: first, exposure to heavy metals with at least a borderline toxic level present, and second, the confluence of karmic energies from past trauma creating an impulse within the individual to escape, to shut down, to somehow escape their own tormenting thoughts, feelings of guilt and fear, and worries about the future, and so on. The latter will weaken natural reserves, and preservation, and self-healing mechanisms and pathways within the normal physiological mechanisms, including those in the central nervous system. If at the same time a toxic material like mercury has diffused into the tissues, there will be less reserve, less resilience, to draw upon in doing ongoing repair for any damage that starts. So the damage will be compounded and will grow over time to reach a level when there is a noticeable decline in neurologic functioning.
In the case of Alzheimer’s it is a pathway for there to be a self-fulfilling prophecy and the sufferer gets their wish, even though it is self-destructive and may be more painful in the end with what becomes of them, than were they to continue to wrestle with their inner anguish instead of blotting out their cognitive functioning. As you know, the greatest penalty is that their consciousness persists, but once the brain is damaged it is unable to bring the brain to life and create actions to signal the outside world it is still in there and aware of things. So intelligent speech will become less and less possible, and the body cannot be made to do things readily to signal someone of an inner awareness and desire for something to happen, as a mime would be forced to do when becoming mute. The mind and body, both, will not be commanded by consciousness with too much destruction from toxic substances like heavy metals. Mercury is not the only culprit, there are many neurotoxins that are present in the environment from all kinds of sources, natural and unnatural. So the perception of Anthony Williams of the damaging consequences of mercury exposure are accurate as far as it goes, but more so an important clue about the full story here. The key opportunity, more often than not, is prevention because it is easier to accomplish than healing a well-entrenched chronic disorder when symptoms are in place and the damage becomes extensive. That is harder to reverse. So the warnings about heavy metal exposure are a great service.
