Is ego a feature of all sentient consciousness? Sentient meaning consciousness that possesses self-awareness and the capacity for abstract thought. It is assumed that sentience is variable, that there are degrees of sentience. For instance, apes have demonstrated some sentience, but minuscule in comparison to humans. It is also assumed that sentience is not brain-dependent and that angels, of course, have sentience. The question is, where there is sentience, is there also an ego, or the potential for ego? What is Creator’s perspective?

You are seeing the fabric of the design of creation here, that advanced beings, like human beings and angelic beings, have many attributes and aspects to their personality, persona, and soul makeup that might be more prominently displayed than others as an aspect of individual talents and personalities. The attributes contributed by the ego are useful for angelic beings as well as the human. The angels have many great responsibilities and times of trial and tribulation, dealing as they do with the darkness oftentimes, and that is not an easy role to take up and manage successfully, given the many rules of engagement that limit what can be done and calls for restraint and discernment. If the angelics were solely ego-based, they would often be a bull in a china shop, so to speak, and overdo intruding on other beings to browbeat them and harangue them as a means of persuading them to give up wrongful actions, and so on. As a human, you might long for such a referee but we can tell you it would not be pretty if you had an angel attacking you, as well as the darkness, for any misstep along the way when you are not at your best. The ego is not a natural part of the being for offering a loving touch that is so often the most artful way to be of service to others, even with a correction or criticism. And the ego for the angelics, just like with human beings, can be a liability if indulged too greatly, so it becomes too powerful and too entrenched as the dominant part of the makeup on display. That may toughen the being and make them safer in the near term, but it will also harden them and make them less sensitive to the needs of others and even themselves, and leave them better equipped to deal with baser instincts and darker doings. While that is important and can be lifesaving, it leaves out the majority of activities for which you were created and greatly needed to be a healer and helper for many worlds in addition to your own.
