DWQA QuestionsCategory: Healing ModalitiesIs dealing with fibrin the key to resolving atherosclerosis, as Dr. Sears suggests? Would taking Heal-n-Soothe have any benefit for reducing arterial plaques?

You are putting two and two together here quite nicely. There, indeed, is something important in the revelation about the role of fibrin in plaque formation. There is good clinical evidence that fibrin is involved in the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis. So anything that can ameliorate accumulation of fibrin locally, could have potential benefit for any condition resulting from or involving fibrin deposition. Because you are talking here about the inner lining of blood vessels, this is actually an easier area to treat than some deep tissue reservoirs. We think this is an excellent idea and such studies will likely come about, at least using some types of enzymes effective in ameliorating fibrin buildup, if not this particular product. You have seen this situation previously, that supplements promoted for a particular benefit say nothing about other long-term potential benefits that could be much more profound and even life-saving. The reason is because, if the supplement can produce a reduction in an annoying symptom, like joint pain, that happens quickly, that is much easier and less expensive to study than a long-term, slowly progressive condition like atherosclerosis. A sizable study would be hugely expensive because of the greater difficulty and time spent needed to show a benefit. We think this will come about eventually, but in the meantime, people can use this information to do something useful for themselves, in all likelihood, if they know or suspect they are a candidate to have such problems.
