DWQA QuestionsCategory: Extraterrestrial InterlopersIs benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) caused by chronic viral infection, and if so, in what percent of cases?
Nicola Staff asked 2 months ago
We see that in 95% of cases of BPH there is an underlying viral infection going on. It is the combination of viral presence and a low-level inflammatory response by the immune system to the viral presence leading to the hyperplasia, rather than a genetic mutation as happens in causing malignant transformation, so this is an early warning of viral invasion.
