DWQA QuestionsCategory: ReligionsIf St. Christopher medals really are effective, does the material they are constructed with make any difference? If a child in Sunday school were to draw a stick figure of St. Christopher and say a sincere prayer to St. Christopher that the drawing protect any and all who possess it, can that serve the same purpose and impart the same level of blessing and protection?

This will be so and is logical from all our previous discussions about blessed objects. The blessing is the conveying of human attention for divine energy in the form of divine love to join with the object whenever needed to produce a benefit for the person implementing the blessed object on their behalf, or on behalf of a loved one. As with all material objects, the more permanent, substantial, and even valuable the materials used in the construction, the more people are likely to expect a benefit because the object itself will be impressive. It may be made of a precious metal or have precious stones or quite artistic rendering through carving or engraving, all of which adds perceived value and an aura of expectation because on its face the object will be impressive looking and seem up to the task at hand more so than something primitive and of a makeshift nature, but we can tell you that many substances can be blessed and carry that energy forward quite readily. What is always most important is the level of belief of the one requesting the blessing to happen, and then the person wanting the blessed object to bless them and their activities.
