There are many reasons for censorship. Sometimes it is that signs of extraterrestrial activity might be captured by space satellites doing photoreconnaissance that is routine these days. Sometimes it is due to alterations in shorelines or other geographic geologic formations due to clandestine work, but these are relatively infrequent. Maps have historically been jealously guarded because they represented power for use in key navigation for empire building, and so on. There is much less secrecy today. This is not a particularly important issue for the Extraterrestrial Alliance because their underground bases are completely covered and hidden, lacking doorways and portals that could be observed from the air, for example. Craft come and go through transdimensional penetration, which is an advanced alien technology they possess, so there can be a vast underground facility completely undetectable from overflights or satellite photos.
