Dupuytren’s disease is thought to have a genetic association as it runs in families. Is presence of a chronic virus also essential for development of symptoms?

Here is another example of an autoimmune reaction through a virus being present causing abnormal tissue growth and compromise of tissue architecture to produce symptoms. This is entirely dependent on a chronic virus within the tissues.
