You can give him some coaching about doing prayer work. Whether he will follow through is another question, but he will appreciate knowing you care about him and his issues and that may be the most you can accomplish at this point in time. If you keep working on his behalf, it will make some difference. We cannot give you a prognosis here about the long-term because he is still far from balanced and his large negativity towards himself and the world at large is governing what happens to him still, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
