It is clear from actuarial evidence alone that such a high incidence of serious injuries is unusual among racehorses. It certainly does happen because these animals can be pushed to the limits and beyond at the behest of owners thinking only of financial greed and not the welfare of the animals. Here again, anything that gives pleasure to human beings, which is the case here that many enjoy watching the contest, perhaps betting on them as a chance to gain something for themselves, becomes a tempting target for mischief. The Extraterrestrial Alliance relishes the opportunity to throw a wrench in the works, so to speak, and are not above injuring animals and people directly, to take them out of action or kill them, quickly or slowly, as they wish. So they have arranged for these injuries to happen through manipulation of the circumstances with the animals in question, to have a misstep and take a spill and with the size and weight of a racehorse, falling on a leg the wrong way can easily cause severe damage. That is not feasible to repair in a way that gets the horse back to normal. So the owners lose their source of revenue and enjoyment being a contestant in the enterprise by proxy, and the animals are usually put down to prevent further suffering, as allowing a long, slow, healing would serve no practical purpose in the minds of the owners. So the darkness gets what it wants all too readily.
