There are two very strong-willed lost soul spirits in residence at the location. They are related to one another by birth but are jealous rivals, and this is a karmic test of wills and conflict going back multiple lifetimes. They are now in a contest over the possession of the home needing the clearing, and it adds extra impetus to attempt to dislodge any other occupants of the location because this fight between the two of them has created tremendous animosity from having to share, so neither one is about to allow anyone else on the scene either, if they can help it. There can be damage to physical objects in the environment and certainly a campaign to spook the occupants of a home, even by making it have a dark feel so people just don't feel comfortable there and have a sense of disquiet or anxiety.
