Can you explain the best way to position the hands during prayer and why?

Holding the hands in the classical prayer position with the palms brought together, with the fingers pointing upwards, was taught for a good reason. It is equally effective to simply fold the hands together with fingers interlaced to bring the palms into opposition in close proximity. There was wisdom in the instruction to do this. This creates a circuit energetically because energy flows out through the hands and so those who advocate doing prayer with hands raised upwards or facing outward and separate are creating the best stance for sending something out. This would seem appropriate when making a prayer request to the Divine, but the reality is the Divine has no problem receiving a prayer request because the Divine is always listening to your thoughts and knows everything that is happening. So you do not need to make special gestures with the body to ensure your prayer is received at the Divine end. What is much less certain and less frequently experienced is some kind of feedback or response to the prayer or acknowledgment it is being heard. The reason for holding the hands in the prayer position described here, is to create an antenna that helps pick up and focus the energy of the subconscious gateway, for the non-local consciousness to sense what is incoming and amplify it. So it is much like creating an antenna for the purpose of communing, and this can help the experience feel more real and feel special. This is divine energy flowing into you, giving you a pat on the back, in a sense. It is saying hello. It is honoring you for the divine gesture of acknowledgment, much as when you make a telephone call, you and the party you reach will say hello to one another as a gesture of greeting and respect. Most times, a prayer is answered with an energetic “hello” response that is just a positive feeling of some kind and may well not be noticed and thought of as coming from Creator, but that will happen, and it will be facilitated by this physical maneuver of concentrating and focusing the energy flow in this way. It also creates a special ritual which reminds the whole system one is undertaking serious business and this, as we have indicated, will increase the power of your intention for something to happen and will enable the divine realm to answer the prayer request more completely and powerfully.
