DWQA QuestionsCategory: KarmaCan Creator share the divine perspective on the statement “I was just following orders?”

This is a similar exercise in the idea of culpability of individual responsibility and the degree to which one perceives an ownership of what happens and then may seek to justify their actions and minimize their culpability. This is typical human behavior, that through hindsight people looking back will often make the plea that they never intended harm to come. They were only carrying out a narrow spectrum of activities that fit within a kind of obligation they had taken on in that time and place to serve a certain function, and it was expected of them to follow orders and carry out whatever was desired and there were often intense pressures and dire consequences for them in failing to perform those duties. This happens always in military organizations when people might sign on because they have a fascination with military matters and lifestyles, and are not thinking of the hellish combat they might ultimately be thrust into, or other circumstances where they may be called on to override moral compunctions about carrying out savage destruction of life and perhaps the killing of civilians as an inevitable consequence that is difficult to avoid. Lack of foresight is never a defense against a karmic transgression. The Law of Karma expects people to be in divine alignment and when they are not, it will be noted, it will be recorded, and there will be a karmic consequence—it is that simple. Just as being within divine alignment causes one to perform acts of loving kindness, beneficence, generosity, nurturing, and upliftment, and the benefits that result will return to them as blessings and opportunities for their own betterment. This all happens automatically, so everything counts, everything matters. One must look at the end result of one’s actions and not simply act like an automaton, a robotic being, simply programmed to carry out a function regardless of what it causes to happen and who might be hurt. So again, the bottom line here is that "When following orders causes harm, it will harm the person carrying out those duties even though they feel and believe strongly they are under obligation to perform as agreed to previously, and may feel fully justified in handing off the responsibility to those in charge, and wash their hands and walk away thinking they have escaped any liability." But we can tell you that karmically there is no such escape. They may escape legally under certain circumstances, especially if there is personal ignorance in advance and then an unintended consequence happens they bring about unwittingly, but legally they will likely still be held responsible because people understand that your energy is your energy and if it causes damage on your watch you must pay. We see this phenomenon as largely a symptom of deeper issues and problems. It may be that the persons carrying out destructive actions have been corrupted and are acting as automatons through mind control manipulation. That is very common and typical, in fact, and is true for people in military organizations across the board—they are all heavily manipulated to be warriors and to be, in a sense, a mindless minion of their commanders. This serves a purpose to suppress fear and hesitation about what one is doing and what the larger meaning might be. Such thoughts are dangerous to the foot soldier because any inner doubts and hesitation can slow momentum at a crucial moment and cause a battle to be lost. People need to be mindful such things happen as mind control manipulation. Karmically they are not off the hook by being ignorant. Similarly, they need to look at the long-term consequences within a bigger picture. If they participate in a hellish travesty causing the deaths of many people, this will weigh on them later when they have time to reflect on what they have done with their life and will weigh on them karmically because the Law of Karma will seek retribution for that loss of life and they may end up dying young in future lifetimes as a form of restitution energetically. So what you see with this simplistic attitude of "just following orders" as a defense is that this is a symptom of the absence of wisdom on display.
