As he arrived at the wedding hall, his friend presented him his future wife, who he never met before. My friend promptly gave his hand to the beautiful bride and at the moment of the handshaking he lost his consciousness as if another consciousness took him over, and for the next 5 minutes he kept holding the bride’s hand and his eyes were locked at her face all the while without being able to regain his senses. The bride, out of respect to her future husband, lowered her head to the ground but kept her hand in my friend’s hand. All the while the groom’s face turned red. He was furious and under a terrible jealous tantrum and in front of the anticipating crowd, he canceled the wedding and reclaimed the wedding ring back from his bride and disappeared from the scene. Twenty-five years later the guy got a call from a friend of his who knew nothing about this incident and she began telling him, you know I just met this woman and a little voice in me said that you need to call her. So she gave him her phone number and he called her and it turned out she was the woman he met at the wedding 25 years ago. Shortly after that, they met and began dating each other. They came to my house yesterday and shared with me their story. My friend told me that it is the first time in his life that he sees a woman with very different eyes, which is quite bewildering to him. Can Creator tell us what took place at the wedding? Was it a divine intervention or was it spirit mischief? Were they a couple in one of their past lives?”

This is all the workings of karma, not a divine intervention per se. These two have a prior history together in having love relationships through multiple lifetimes, so there was a very strong and heartfelt soul recognition coming together through chance at the wedding 25 years ago. That deep soul recognition was a powerful attraction, but was surprising and puzzling to both parties as they truly did not know each other at all in the current life so there was no logical basis for them to come together in any way, or even to take up a relationship, especially considering the odd circumstances that were a scene of disruption and considerable turmoil, and a backlash by all of the relatives in both families over what had taken place with supporters and detractors weighing in to criticize and heckle. This caused everything to be unworkable, and that is the reason nothing transpired for them to go forward in reconnecting at that juncture. It was only later when they were brought together by an intermediary that they were then in a position of being available and unhindered, with an opportunity to act on the reality there was indeed a deep soul alliance already formed, and would make a natural relationship not only possible but favorable in moving towards a marriage. With maturity and the learning achieved through the intervening years of life, they are better equipped to have a strong and successful relationship than would otherwise be the case. This was, in many respects, an error in timing, not a missed opportunity for a great love and a tragic denial of a lifelong joy to be in a wonderful relationship with a perfect partner. There were karmic reasons for that first marriage to happen and this was disrupted by the two coming together before it was time. So, in a sense, the life plan ended up playing out as was originally intended. It is frequently the case that people with deep history and soul-bonding come together only later in life following a failed first marriage. This is often planned and allowed for because there are karmic purposes to have a difficulty of that sort, to fulfill karmic obligations, and provide a challenge to overcome for learning and growth before settling down and simply having happiness. While the latter is what people most want from life, everyone has a huge backlog of unfinished karmic wounding and liabilities that must be reckoned with, so it is frequently the case that planning for a new go-round of incarnation incorporates features that allow putting people again to the test by thrusting them into an old, very loaded, and treacherous circumstance where they may well fail and be harmed again, but with the hope they will find a way to stand strong and help themselves heal the discord or temptation and rise above it, and thereby end the karmic cycle that is underway and satisfy their obligation for payback and restoration of negativity they have indulged in or contributed to another’s experience. The life of happiness, while joyous, contributes little learning except to serve as a reward, so is very appropriate, but it is the difficulties, the challenges, the obstacles, the setbacks, and even the suffering that bring strength of character and depth of wisdom. So life is enriched by every bit of the difficulties. A life with no difficulties is, in many ways, a dull and uneventful life no matter how happy it might be, and free of difficulty. When everything is handed to you, there is little to learn. Enjoying bounty can be done by anyone. It is more meaningful to overcome a challenge and sometimes having to learn things the hard way creates a much greater depth of character and certainly an appreciation of the good things in life when they are finally attained. So these lives are in alignment and the destinies being fulfilled according to the original life plan which was a joyous one in serving the parties involved to be well-rounded and not just allowed happiness for the sake of happiness.
