We would say that, in general, beverages are a minor source of nutrition, regardless of the nature of the beverage, unless they are a large percentage of daily intake, but this is not necessary given a wide array of food choices. Keep in mind as well that beverages such as black tea, green tea, and coffee contain a wide array of beneficial phytonutrients that have significant health maintenance activities. There is even scientific data showing that drinking tea confers greater longevity.
The idea of milk being a magical nutrient for growth and wellbeing is as much a product of propaganda assisted with mind control manipulation. This is why milk is used to nurture the young of mammalian species but not the adults. That is the true lesson from nature that is a worthy take-home message. To be sure, in times of scarcity, having dairy animals can be a godsend for people to get by from drinking milk, but when there is ample nutritional variety of foods available, milk can be dispensed with entirely without detriment. To be sure, someone with a taste preference from a lifetime of conditioning to feel their meal will not be complete without a glass of milk will miss it, but we are talking here about serious trade-offs, with respect to risk, and pointing out this is not a huge liability, in most cases, to eliminate milk from the diet.
