DWQA QuestionsCategory: KarmaA viewer asks: “Poets have often been regarded as having insight and intuition beyond most people’s reach. For example, the English poet Matthew Arnold (1822 –1888) finishes one of his poems: ‘Resolve to be thyself; and know that he, Who finds himself, loses his misery!’ This would seem to be what GetWisdom would call “coming into divine alignment and healing to a point of ascension.” To what extent can poetry, music, literature, and the arts generally achieve healing? Is their use hindered and discouraged by dark forces? Are the arts an overlooked method of healing in society compared to medical science?” What is Creator’s perspective?

While it is true that art is divine and reflects the divine origin of all artistic expression, it is possible to put the cart before the horse. In other words, the creation and implementation and appreciation of art requires an expression of divinity because you must be more on our wavelength than not, to appreciate what is possible and to be a conduit for artistic expression. That is as much true for the witnesses and patrons of the arts as for the artist themselves. They, in fact, are in a kind of partnership with the divine in their understanding and appreciation that artistic expression has intrinsic value and is uplifting in ways inexpressible and irreplaceable, and that appreciation will be greater for those in divine alignment than those who are less so. It is true that the arts can uplift and, in fact, this is a validation of our existence, but that does not mean that bringing an artistic end product before someone who is corrupted will turn them around and bring deep and lasting healing that may be desperately needed to save them. That is asking a lot. It is more likely to be the case that such an outreach would fall on deaf ears, and not be seen for what it is either, because when people are out of alignment they are not on the same wavelength as beauty, in any form, because that, too, is divine. So you are asking a lot of what is a byproduct of divinity, to change the non-divine to become divine itself. It can more likely be a reminder, and perhaps serve as an inspiration, to get some inner awakening and a yearning started to help someone rise up from a low point by seeing there is something better to live for, but that will be more a starting point than an overall solution for deep healing needs because it will not be capable of effecting a deep karmic repair for the workings of evil by itself alone. Another way of illustrating the difference we are pointing out is to consider that poetic description of inner awareness, as a desired goal, as a help in saving the self. But like other self-help approaches, that is a far cry from understanding what is wrong when there is a deep karmic history impinging from multiple lifetimes of subjugation and corruption, and being able to form a partnership with the divine, which is the only way to truly heal the self in a profound and deep way, not to mention the level of completion represented by readiness for ascension which is currently beyond the reach of everyone living. Reaching that level of greater perfection will not happen simply through introspection and arriving at a greater self-understanding through intellect, even aided by the heart and inner feelings, intuitively. That will help a person gain a greater understanding something is wrong, but will not provide a solution capable of turning things around.
