You are not appreciating the long rich history here of human involvement with the ETs. This has gone on for many, many millennia, not only the current group of incarnated human beings but a prior creation of humanity, which they annihilated as well. The deviousness, ruthlessness, and savagery of psychopaths cannot be overstated. When they do not value human beings to begin with, except as objects to be manipulated, when they grow tired of their games, it is just as easy for them to kill everyone off as to invent a reason to let them have a seeming privilege of continued existence. The bottom line with the extraterrestrials is they see themselves as gods and everything else as inconsequential and subject to their whims. They have many other worlds to prey upon. Humans are simply too much trouble because they keep fighting back. Their annihilation has been avoided, through divine intervention, using the strategy of appealing to the curiosity of the extraterrestrials to better understand this conundrum of what gives humans this resilience in the face of their power. So, in effect, humans have been living on borrowed time for quite a while and that is why things are coming to a head finally.
