All are being misled by the apparent importance of these enterprises. They have the curb appeal of the early Space Program and generate much excitement. There is much conditioning here to keep a keen interest in all things regarding space exploration and representing this as the noblest of efforts, that it is a bold new frontier, and that all who go forth bravely are to be looked on as heroes, so there is much ego gratification involved with indulging the manipulation to enter this arena and become a would-be pioneer. The ideas and goals are lofty to be sure, but are not only impractical, but would constitute a kind of imprisonment in a hostile environment. No matter how elaborate the simulation of human life on the planet might be, people will not feel at home and will yearn for a true physical connection to the Earth once again. This is simply an extension of the exaggerated fears of global warming to create the idea that offshore colonies or off-planet colonies will become necessary so those who make provisions will be heroes in the sense of Noah and the Ark. This is all propaganda being done to manipulate humanity into distractions that are costly and will have more negative than positive benefits.
