There is a high level of extraterrestrial activity in the area, and this is due to prior history as well as an ongoing active involvement in the region with extraterrestrial craft coming and going with great frequency. As is always the case, humans in the vicinity represent low-hanging fruit and may be devoured, so to speak, to take advantage of convenient access by the aliens. It is not that there is a presence of a portal, what people might see intuitively is the strong connection to ancient history, and what that means is many things have come to pass for individuals in proximity to Mount Shasta, and those comings and goings suggest a kind of node on a highway of life forms.
