DWQA QuestionsCategory: Limiting BeliefsA viewer asks: “If a multiple-witnessed stigmata (like a painful dried bloody 2 mm hole on the surface of the palm) suddenly appears unexpectedly on the hand of a non-Catholic person involved in delivering their first Baptism and then disappears by midnight on the same day, what should this signify to the stigmatic? And why does our Mighty Creator choose on certain occasions to use miraculous signs like this, when it can make his workers a target for mass ridicule and persecution?” What is Creator’s perspective?

Stigmata are never our creation but the creation of the individual themselves wanting to follow in Christ's footsteps, so to speak, and, in effect, creating a shift in the body to mimic his time on the cross. This is a mental, emotional, and energetic manipulation of bodily energy to focus intensely on many yearnings to be Christlike within memory and in the deep beliefs held within, of such individuals. This shows the power of the mind over the body, that such things can happen, it is not imposed from above as a blessing or a punishment by Creator. This is not how we operate, to bring misfortune or suffering or indeed any kind of punishment. Human beings are in the land of punishment through their own choosing and, as such, the overarching force of the universe, through the Law of Karma, will force a rebalancing of anything that is out of alignment. In this case, we would say that exhibiting stigmata is being out of balance because it serves no real functional purpose and can have many drawbacks, as you rightly point to, that a person will be viewed as strange, at a minimum, and with suspicion because many will assume such wounds are self-inflicted or a lie told about a prior event as a kind of scam, none of which brings people together but causes discord, doubts, and divisiveness. This is simply common sense. Around the world there are untold millions of followers of Christian teachings, how would it reward them to wake up one day and all have stigmata? That would be, at a minimum, a nuisance, but even a potential threat to physical well‑being, certainly influencing them emotionally, and, in a world that is increasingly secular, serve to drive a wedge between them and others. While the power of mind over matter is still viewed with great skepticism by mainstream science, we can tell you that the ability of the mind to affect one's own body is where the energies and influence are greatest and much less so in the ability to influence others, but divine energy is used for healing and not the wounding, certainly, of believers in the divine.
