We are on record already as supporting that as a general approach to having a better nutritional balance, particularly in today's world where there are many circumstances that lead to chronic illnesses, including cancer and obesity, which presents added risk factors. We have commented that dietary fat has been unfairly demonized as a culprit underlying human illness, and the end result has been an unhealthy and dangerous shift to prioritize carbohydrates in the diet. So having a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet that is ketogenic will be ideal for a high percentage of people, although not all. It will starve cancer cells, for example, and thus has prophylactic benefit for maintaining health. In contrast, vegan diets are unnatural and inadequate for long-term health and longevity. It is very difficult, in fact, to achieve equivalent results on a vegan diet to have a normal lifespan. This is one of the pitfalls. Much care must be devoted to ensuring there are sufficient substitutes for what is readily obtained from meat and fish, including eggs especially, as a high-quality nutrient source of protein and fatty acids that are essential for cellular function.
