She is correct in her understanding here, that the well-meaning life support that seems only to be a humanitarian gesture was instrumental in prolonging the agony. While this is unfortunate, it happens frequently in healthcare settings by the well-meaning caregivers wanting to be compassionate and of assistance under difficult circumstances where they are fighting a losing battle all too often, with the many who suffer from these maladies. Now that things have continued to worsen, you see clearly that prolonging his life is a form of torture and will be unhelpful. Maintaining comfort is paramount but his transitioning would be a blessing for all concerned at this point. It is hard on those witnessing the suffering and doing the hard work to deal with the needs of someone so helpless, as it is quite a burden and a stressful one. A subconscious channeling to work on the issue of letting go and returning home would be of great value here. It is not a guarantee, as you have seen working with others. What you have not seen is that it has made a difference by a wide margin even though it has taken quite a while to take hold for some. It is a gesture of loving kindness and will have benefits in reducing suffering regardless of any change in the calendar timing of his passing.
