Nicola Staff asked 4 years ago
This was indeed a divine intervention. This is not to say that all such course corrections are divinely orchestrated. There are purposeful changes in the course taken by these giant storms to create the precedent for such things so they can cause this to happen at just the worst time. This has happened again and again as storms predicted to move in a particular direction cause people to be complacent and not evacuate an area in danger, and then the storm will suddenly make a right-angle turn and move inland, for example, and catch many people unawares during the night who have gone to bed feeling safe and content nothing will befall them. So one cannot use this as any reliable indicator, in a general way, that it is always the divine hand at work, but it can be, and in this case was instrumental in preventing a catastrophe.
