These observed associations made by the medical community are not simply a coincidence or a direct effect of thyroid hormone imbalance per se, but, indeed, are reflecting a more widely disseminated viral presence, potentially in multiple tissues and cells in various organs and sites within the body, all of which can trigger the immune system and result in local abnormalities and impairment of function. This is variable. You have asked about multiple things here, and we would need to go through them one by one to give a sense of frequency as there are multiple causes, as you might expect, for many maladies and abnormal findings of the various organs, and so forth. So all of these disparate phenomena are not always due to a thyroid infection, but often times will be present in someone with abnormal thyroid activity, and that is usually due to having a viral presence in the other locations underlying symptoms observable to the physician.
