A psychic medium in a televised reading received impressions from a departed woman who was brutally murdered, and who was presumably in the light, and who made the medium feel the woman knew she would be killed but had no way out other than to sacrifice herself for her children. We have explored the problem of psychopaths in previous shows, and the dilemma of dealing with them directly. However, the belief on the part of the victim, that her tragic sacrifice “was her only way out,” seems perhaps a self-fulfilling prophecy. Could divine protection, belief in divine protection, and requests for divine protection have manifested a less extreme and less tragic outcome?

This unfortunate circumstance and the particular spirit involved here are an object lesson in the consequences of inadequate understanding and missed opportunities. This was an example of a stand-in by the higher self, representing the mindset of this woman's departed spirit that was still not back in heaven but trapped in limbo, and turning over the events of the recent passing in her thoughts over and over and over as a kind of self‑tormenting. But as a consequence of the state of being, caught in between having a full complement of mind and body with a brain to translate thoughts into language, and not being back in the heavenly realm with light being powers but rather tumbling in the darkness with only a partial understanding of why, and even who she is, and what might happen in the future, and without prior experience to draw on, and with a quite limited intuitive reach, to only connect with the past events primarily, this woman's spirit is truly stuck. This was communicated in the frustration and apparent helplessness reflected in the circumstances of her passing, but still holding on to that helpless desperation of the horrors of her facing a killer bent on her destruction. At a minimum, this is no way to spend an eternity. Even if things are not worsened, which is quite possible, because such spirits are vulnerable to predation and sooner or later will be attacked and tormented mercilessly, the light cannot teach you something you do not know unless you envision and ask about it directly. Such a question was never posed, about whether this spirit is now in the light or not, it was presumed. So the best that could be done was to reflect the fact there is continuing unhappiness, and a desire for things to be reconciled, but not a clear statement such is the case. This is why we say, this was a hint that something needed to happen, in the hopes it might be mounted from the human side. Something as simple as earnest prayer for their healing might well be enough to enable an outreach from the light with greater intensity to truly rescue that lost soul spirit with a return to the heavenly realm, finally, after being caught in between, often referred to as "purgatory," but not truly with an understanding of the mechanism involved nor the solution being needed much more frequently than people suspect.
