We would say you are on the right track in working on the younger grouping, precisely for the reasons you state—their illness is less deeply entrenched and the consequential alteration of their minds to make them delusional will be less severe, potentially, at least. Patients of all ages will be benefited by the approaches you envision, so we would caution against having rules that exclude people unnecessarily, but to the extent you can focus on that target group you are thinking about, it would be a fine plan that would favor success, at least to the extent possible given this is all a tough challenge to bring about. But as is true in all of healthcare, some individuals are easier to reach and help to turn things around than others. That is where you will get your best rewards and it will be evident when this happens and be quite gratifying, indeed. You have the experience and the intuitive ability to assess with suitable criteria those patients likely to be refractory to treatment, and incorrigible with respect to things like criminal tendencies that involve violence and making them riskier to deal with. You will learn with experience to trust yourself and your instincts and the guidance you will be getting all along the way from the divine realm. With proper safeguards, you can take on literally anything, but it is easier to start small and work your way up to tougher challenges as you are working out your procedures and methods and gaining confidence that things are working.
