There is nothing that is particularly effective short of diversionary stimuli, but that is not a particularly useful strategy as it would entail interrupting life experience for a time. So while not worsening things with respect to manipulation from the interlopers, it is lost time and progress from a self-imposed manipulation that prevents people from doing anything useful, and that is faint progress indeed.
