Despite your father's limitations and his apparent state of isolation looking grim, we have no trouble talking with his deep subconscious mind and are able to give him much comfort and reassurance that things will work out for him and there are better times ahead. That is what he most needs, a way to understand his current circumstances and the fact he is unable to control the thoughts of his mind and the working of the body in ways the deep part of his mind would like to see. In a sense, he is exhibiting the consequence of fragmentation where one part of his mind is impaired but, because of the innate disconnection of levels of the mind which is a human dilemma that is universal, it leaves him stranded because people need their conscious self to be healthy, resilient, and in control. When there is cognitive impairment, they lose their link with the world. Most suffer in silence and their dilemma not fully appreciated.
