CNN reports: “Since 2016, scientists have been tracking elevated numbers of humpback whale deaths on the East Coast. From Maine to Florida, 178 whales have died, and scientists have examined about half of the incidents. Of those, about 40% were because whales were struck by ships or got tangled in ropes or nets in the water.” There have been 9 new whale deaths on the coasts of just New York and New Jersey over the past 2 months alone, renewing speculation about the cause. Involvement of seismic testing to establish a large wind farm on the seabed has been dismissed as a reason by authorities. What is truly happening?

I have been frequently disheartened to see the color gray a major choice of designers for years now, for home exteriors, interior walls, furniture, countertops, and kitchen cabinets. That has happened before, and then it goes out of favor. Growing up, it always seemed to me a utilitarian World War II legacy embraced by institutions, with battleships, school lockers, and steel office furniture painted gray, not to mention the dreariness of overcast skies, especially over long winters. Gray seems more to have an absence of color than a color. Is that decorating trend orchestrated to happen, or perhaps a karmic legacy from life experience?

A practitioner asks: “My client’s son is out of work and will stop eating to punish himself as per a Bible reference about work. What has come to mind for me is the past lesson about a woman who was able to offer part of her own nutrition for a weak undernourished baby. That could be considered healing by proxy. I wonder if there is potential for people closely connected to someone whose healing seems intractable to ask for healing of the issue for oneself that will be shared with the client? She is a scientist by trade and appears successful except in her wanting a relationship and to have her own children.
