Cocker spaniels and Irish setters are both breeds of dogs that became wildly popular and then, presumably through inbreeding, developed health and emotional problems that hampered their widespread adoption as pets for some time. Were both of these dog breeds tampered with purposefully by the Extraterrestrial Alliance specifically to limit human joy from their companionship?
