Five states, including Nevada, South Dakota, Nebraska, Texas, and Hawaii had 911 outages yesterday. A spokesman for the company providing service for the first 3 states, announced their region’s problem was due to an accidental cutting of a cable to install a light pole. Problems at the other locations were “under investigation.” Is this all just a coincidence, or was this explanation given as a false reassurance that the infrastructure was not fragile, and something more sinister was taking place?

This past week, wildfires have spread to over one million acres in Texas, destroying hundreds of homes and other buildings and killing thousands of livestock animals.
