Another assault using a vehicle was reported in the New Orleans French Quarter on New Year’s Eve, when a pickup truck reportedly driven by a US citizen, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, plowed through a crowd of revelers for several blocks at high speed, killing 15 people and injuring dozens.
